This was a useful presentation if perhaps a bit too sales focussed. Its clear RateTiger offers a very important product which helps hotels distribute their rates to other third party websites.
Expedia open new Dublin office
Expedia have opened a new office in Dublin, Ireland. This is their first office outside of London in UK/ Ireland. I had a chat with Seamus MacCormaic, Director Market Management UK & IR at Expedia about this significant new investment in the Irish market.
Seamus mentioned that Expedia will have three members of staff based in Dublin who will liaise with Irish hotels regarding their presence on Expedia.ie. He also mentioned that despite the recession Expedia are holding their own with an increase in new partnerships with other travel websites. Seamus confirmed the new Cornell Billboard affect study and even went as far as saying that for every booking a hotel receives through Expedia they receive a booking direct to their website or call centre.
